This short online course focuses on building awareness of your surroundings and recognizing that situational awareness is dynamic, requiring ongoing attention and adjustment. Various factors can influence your level of awareness and create distractions.

Key elements in the course help you form a clear mental picture of your environment and understand what the normal baseline looks like. The SLAM and STICC techniques are explained to support this process.

You will develop the skills and knowledge needed to use these techniques to prevent harm to yourself and others. The e‑learning resources include an additional activity that allows you to put your learning into practice.

Downloadable templates are also provided so you can begin applying these concepts within your own workplace.
